   3 This directory is for tools.

   5 A tool is something which is sometimes useful, and doesn't fit any of
   6 the other categories.

   8 Please make a subdir per program, and add a brief description to this
   9 file.

  11 ansify          Convert K&R-style function definitions to ANSI style
  12 ath             Tools specific to the Atheros 802.11 support
  13 backout_commit  A tool for reading in a commit message and generating
  14                 a script that will backout the commit.
  15 commitsdb       A tool for reconstructing commit history using md5
  16                 checksums of the commit logs.
  17 crypto          Test and exercise tools related to the crypto framework
  18 diffburst       OBSOLETE: equivalent functionality is available via split -p.
  19                 For example: "split -p ^diff < patchfile". See split(1).
  20 editing         Editor modes and the like to help editing FreeBSD code.
  21 epfe            Extract printing filter examples from printing.sgml.
  22 ether_reflect   An Ethernet packet reflector for low level testing.
  23 find-sb         Scan a disk for possible filesystem superblocks.
  24 gdb_regofs      A simple tool that prints out a register offset table
  25                 for mapping gdb(1) register numbers to struct reg and
  26                 struct fpreg offsets. The tool is useful on selected
  27                 platforms only.
  28 genericize      Turn a kernel config into something that can more easily
  29                 be diffed against the appropriate GENERIC.
  30 hcomp           Compress header files by removing comments and whitespace.
  31 html-mv         Rename HTML generated filenames to human readable filenames.
  32 ifinfo          Uses the interface MIB to print out all the information
  33                 an interface exports in an ugly form.
  34 iwi             Tools specific to the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG/2225BG/2915ABG
  35                 support.
  36 kdrv            KernelDriver; add/list/remove third-party kernel driver
  37                 source to/in/from a kernel source tree.
  38 kernelcruft     Shellscript to find orphaned *.c files in /sys
  39 kerninclude     Shellscript to find unused #includes in the kernel.
  40 kernxref        Shellscript to cross reference symbols in the LINT kernel.
  41 kttcp           An in-kernel version of the ttcp network performance tool
  42 mctest          A multicast test program
  43 mfc             Merge a directory from HEAD to a branch where it does not
  44                 already exist and other MFC related script(s).
  45 mid             Create a Message-ID database for mailing lists.
  46 ncpus           Count the number of processors
  47 nxge            A diagnostic tool for the nxge(4) driver
  48 pciid           Generate src/share/misc/pci_vendors.
  49 pciroms         A tool for dumping PCI ROM images. WARNING: alpha quality.
  50 pirtool         A tool for dumping the $PIR table on i386 machines at runtime.
  51 portsinfo       Generate list of new ports for last two weeks.
  52 prstats         Generate statistics about the PR database.
  53 recoverdisk     Copy as much data as possible from a defective disk.
  54 scsi-defects    Get at the primary or grown defect list of a SCSI disk.
  55 sysdoc          Build a manual page with available sysctls for a specific

  57 tinybsd         Script to build FreeBSD embedded systems.
  58 track           Track the progress of a world / kernel build
  59 vop_table       Generates a HTML document that shows all the VOP's in
